Andrew joined CJBS in 1994 and is the managing partner in charge of the firm's audit practice. Prior to joining CJBS, Andrew worked for a large, downtown Chicago public auditing firm for two years. Andrew devotes a significant amount of time developing cutting-edge technology to streamline the audit process and deliver high quality, valuable audits. He has significant depth of audit and accounting expertise working with not-for-profit companies, including several large national and international organizations. His practice also includes mid-size, closely held clients, including manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers and professional groups. In addition, Andrew audits employee benefit plans, including 401(k), pension, profit sharing, and health and welfare plans, including Taft Hartley multi-employer and union clients. He conducts all Sarbanes Oxley engagements for clients subject to requirements under this law. Andrew is also involved in other essential areas such as preparing detailed backup support for negotiations, forensic accounting, compliance audits, as well as internal control audits. Andrew collaborates closely with his business partners on several unique income tax situations to develop positive strategies to deal with complex issues.
Andrew received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from the University of Iowa in 1991 with post graduate studies emphasizing tax law, capital markets and accounting theory. He received his CPA from the University of Illinois in 1994. Andrew annually enrolls in more than 50 credit hours of professional education classes and seminars and presents at several venues throughout the year.
Andrew dedicates a substantial portion of his time as a volunteer on the Board of Directors at Maryville Academy, serving as Treasurer, finance committee chair and also serves actively on several of their committees. In addition, he serves as the co-chair for the CJBS Continuing Professional Education program. Andrew is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He is an active alumnus of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
Andrew is a serious amateur freshwater bass fisherman. He often spends time looking for the "big one" on Wisconsin's Green Lake and sketching nature scenes in his spare time. He is also trying to learn to play golf well enough to break 100. Married, with three children and a black Labrador named Emma, Andrew resides in Lake Bluff, Illinois.
