Senior Audit Associate
Individuals at this level generally have a minimum of two years of experience as an Audit Associate, including two calendar/fiscal year busy seasons. They also have either passed the CPA exam or parts of the CPA exam. Senior Audit Associates are expected to:
- Know and understand the reasons behind firm policies and procedures
- Possess technical knowledge and communication skills sufficient to supervise and train Staff Audit Associates
- Be able to communicate well with clients, within their area of audit expertise
- Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships during the audit process and throughout the year
The Senior Audit Associate is expected to:
- Expand their command of GAAP and be able to apply it to the financials and notes, cash, tax, and other special purpose frameworks, as well as unique or specialized accounting principles and financial statement presentations
- Have a good command of common audit regulations, procedures, and research techniques, including the various research sources in the firm library
- Complete the preparation of basic audits from beginning to end with support from their manager
- Assume responsibility for efficiently supervising both audit and non-audit engagements
- Successfully complete financial statements without major and/or material changes
- Recognize additional opportunities to expand audit service offerings to clients
- Have a strong ability to mentor Audit Associates and provide training and coaching
- Assist in development of job budgets
- Maintain required CPE
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Proficient in CCH Axcess or similar products
- Proficient in Oracle NetSuite preferred
- Proficient in Odoo ERP and CRM preferred
- Experience or familiarity with QuickBooks and tax preparation software is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a team atmosphere
- Bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting
- CPA, EA, or CPA eligible preferred
