Laureen “Laurie” McParlane, CPA
ManagerLaurie joined CJBS in 2018 via its merger with Oehrlein & Oehrlein, PC; she’d been with her previous firm for the length of her career—since 1989. In her role as an associate, Laurie offers accounting and tax work for both individuals and businesses. As an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor on both desktop and online, she strives to be the bridge between her clients’ businesses and technology.
A persistent and hard-working professional, Laurie’s goal is to “move beyond the books” and make a difference in her clients’ businesses by coaching and guiding them toward success. She attributes her career success to the flexibility that working for a family business provided. Laurie was inspired to pursue a career in accounting by her own working mother, who—in an era when many women did not work outside the home—attended night school in order to attain her CPA designation.
Laurie lives in Palatine, Illinois with her husband of 30 years, Dave. Together they have two adult daughters, Kaitlyn and Emily, and one teenage son, David. Currently, Laurie’s favorite activity is watching her son play basketball.

Secret talent: Laurie achieved “First Class” Girl Scout in 8th grade; she went on to be a Girl Scout leader for eight years while her daughters were in the program.
