IRS Unveils New Online ID Verification Process to Help and Protect You

The IRS recently launched an enhanced identity verification and sign-in process to better protect your personal information and reduce the risk of fraud. We’d like our clients to know that this new, mobile-friendly system allows you to access your current tax information. If you currently have an account, you could be asked to re-verify your identity the next time you log in.

Why Do We Encourage You to Visit the IRS Website and Update Your Account?

The information available not only affects your tax returns but can also help provide the information required to complete your taxes if you don’t have records of them, including:

• Advanced Child Tax Credit payments
• EIP stimulus payments
• Estimated tax payments and carryovers   

CJBS will be sending Tax Organizers to our clients in the next month to help you gather all the information and questions needed to compile your tax records. The more information you complete and provide, including your IRS payment records, the less time of yours we take up while continuing to provide you with the best-in-class service you depend on.
